The Artuqid Dynasty, ruled Mardin from the 12th century to the beginning of the 15th century, made the city flourish by building mosques, madrasahs, baths, bridges, complexes, etc. where many different civilizations left their mark. The Muzafferiye Madrasah built by the Artuqids in the last quarter of the 13th century was one of the most important monumental works of dynasty. The madrasah is thought to have inspired the madrasahs of Artuqid and Akkoyunlu dynasties, such as Zinciriye and Kasımiye madrasahs, which were built after it. At the end of the 19th century, the Muzafferiye Madrasah was demolished and a school building was built in its place which is used as the Mardin Technical Institute today. The article is reached in order to be educated about the madrasah from which archival documents will be used. The article has reignited discussion on the architecture of the Muzafferiyye Madrasah by making analogies with the structures of the period.
Farklı medeniyetlerin iz bıraktığı Mardin’de on ikinci yüzyıldan on beşinci yüzyılın başına kadar hüküm süren Artuklu Beyliği; cami, medrese, hamam, köprü, külliye vb. eserler yaparak şehri bayındır hale getirmiştir. Muzafferiye Medresesi, Artukluların on üçüncü yüzyılın son çeyreğinde inşa ettiği önemli anıtsal eserlerin başında gelmekteydi. Kendinden sonra inşa edilen Artuklu ve Akkoyunlu medreselerine (Zinciriye, Kasımiye gibi) ilham verdiği düşünülen Muzafferiye Medresesi, on dokuzuncu yüzyılın sonunda yıkılarak yerine, günümüzde Mardin Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü olarak kullanılan okul binası inşa edilmiştir. Makale, arşiv belgelerinden faydalanarak medrese hakkında önemli verilere ulaşmıştır. Artuklu Beyliği dönemi yapıları ile analoji yapılarak Muzafferiye Medresesi’nin mimarisi hakkında güncel yorumlar getirmiştir.
