Dolder Bar Retained Maxillary Overdenture: A Case Report

Abstract

The prosthetic rehabilitation of edentulous patients has always been a challenge for dentists. Problems such as lack of retention and stability of the conventional dentures constitute dissatisfaction of patients. Rehabilitation of edentulous patients with severe bone resorption, is much easier with overdenture prostheses than implantsupported fixed prostheses due to the chance to create a natural aesthetic appearance, to provide facial support and compensation for lacking soft and hard tissues. In this case report, a dolder bar retained overdenture which is supported by four implants located in edentulous anterior maxilla is presented. The denture, which allowed the improvement of facial aesthetics, showed satisfactory results in terms of retention and stability

DOLDER BAR DESTEKLİ MAKSİLLER OVERDENTURE: OLGU SUNUMU

Abstract

Tam dişsiz hastaların protetik tedavisi diş hekimleri için her zaman zorlayıcı olmuştur. Klasik tam protezlerin retansiyon ve stabilite yetersizliği gibi problemler, hastalarda memnuniyetsizlik oluşturmaktadır. Tam dişsiz, aşırı kemik rezorpsiyonu görülen hastalarda, doğal bir estetik oluşturmak, yüz görünümünü düzenlemek ve kaybedilen sert ve yumuşak dokuları telafi etmek, sabit protezlere oranla implant destekli overdenture protezlerle çok daha kolaydır. Bu olgu sunumunda, tam dişsiz ön maksillaya yerleştirilen dört adet implant üzerine uygulanan dolder bar tutuculu overdenture protez yapım aşamaları sunulmaktadır. Protez, yüz estetiğinin düzelmesini sağlamış, tutuculuk ve stabilite açısından tatmin edici sonuç ortaya koymuştur.
