Condensing Osteitis Mimicking Clinically Sementoblastoma case report

Abstract

Condensing osteitis is a pathologic growth of the maxillomandibular bones, characterized by mild clinical symptoms. Bone thickening reflects impaired bone rearrangement in response to the mild infection of dental pulp. In the past the benign cementoblastoma was recognized in the World Health Organization’s classification of odontogenic tumours as one of the cementoma neoplasias. Recently the benign cementoblastoma is included into ‘Mesenchyme and/or odontogenic ectomesenchyme, with or without odontogenic epithelium’ odontogenic tumours. Benign cementoblastoma has characteristic radiologic and microscopic features and it appears to be fused to the tooth roots. Symptoms may be totally absent, and when they do occur, pain and swelling are frequent findings. The final diagnosis is usually made histopathologically, but the clinical diagnosis is comparatively easy if it is examined radiographically. The tumour has unlimited growth potential. Most frequently tends to be associated with an erupted permanent tooth, most often the 1.st molar, rarely has an association with an impacted or partial impacted tooth been reported. Klinik olarak sementoblastoma’yı taklit eden kondensing osteitis vaka raporu

Abstract

Kondensing osteitis maksillomandibuler kemiklerde patolojik bir büyümedir. Hafif klinik belirtiler ile karakterizedir. Kemik kalınlaşması bozulmuş kemiğin yeniden düzenlenmesini yansıtırve buda diş pulpasının hafif enfeksiyonuna yanıtıdır. Geçmişte benign sementoblastoma, Dünya Sağlık Örgütü odontojenik tümörlerin sınıflamasına göre sementoma neoplazilerinden biri olarak tanımlanmıştır. Son zamanlarda benign sementoblastoma mezenşim ve / veya odontojenik ektomezenşim içeren odontojenik epitelli veya epitelsiz odontojenik tümörlere dahil edilmiştir. Benign sementoblastomanın karakteristik radyolojik ve mikroskobik özellikleri vardır ve diş köklerine kaynamış görünür. Hiç semptom göstermeyebilir, eğer semptom ortaya çıkarsa, ağrı ve şişlik sıkrastlanan bulgulardır. Kesin tanı genellikle histopatolojik olarak yapılır, ancak radyografik inceleme ile klinik tanı nispeten daha kolaydır. Tümör sınırsız büyüme potansiyeline sahiptir. En sıksürmüş bir daimi diş ile ilişkilidir, çoğunlukla 1. molar diş ile ilişkili olma eğilimindedir. Nadiren gömülü veya kısmen gömülü bir diş ile ilişkili olduğu bildirilmiştir.Bu rapor 25 yaşında erkek hastada klinik ve radyografik olarak benign sementoblastoma’yıtaklit eden fakat, histopatolojik tanısı kondensing osteitis’le uyumlu bir vaka sunumudur. Lezyon sol alt çene 1. molar diş köküne yapışık radyoopak bir kitle olarak görülmektedir
