SANTRAL GIANT CELL GRANULOMA: BİR OLGU RAPORU

Abstract

Santral giant cell granüloma, çenelerdegörülen ve genellikle bilinmeyen bir etkenle aktiveolan, neoplastik olmayan bir kemik hastalığıdır.Genellikle, 30 yaş veya altı hastalarda, ağrısız şişlik ve fasiyal asimetri ile kendini gösterir. S›kl›kla mandibulan›n anterioru ile 1. molar diş aras› bölgede görülür. 50 yaş›ndaki kad›n hasta, sol alt çenesinde, uzun süreden beri varolan şişlik şikayeti nedeniyle Ankara Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Oral Diagnoz ve Radyoloji kliniğine başvurmuştur. Hastan›n yap›lan klinik muayenesi sonucu, total dişsiz alt çene anterior bölgeden sol molar bölgeye kadar uzanan ve ekstraoral olarak palpe edilen bir şişlik tespit edilmiştir. Radyolojik muayenede ise, mandibulada anterior bölgeden başlay›p 1. molar diş bölgesi ve mandibula alt kenar›na kadar uzanan, radyoopak s›n›rla çevrili geniş bir radyolusent lezyon tespit edilmiştir. Yap›lan biyopsi sonras›nda, patoloji sonucu, santral giant cell granüloma olarak bildirilmiştir.

SANTRAL GIANT CELL GRANULOMA

Abstract

The central giant cell granuloma is fairly common in the jaws and it is a nonneoplastic bone disease, probably reactive to some unknown stimulus. Usually, it occurs in persons 30 years of age or younger with painless swelling and an asymmetry in facial apperance. The highest rate of occurence is the mandible, and most mandibular lesions occur anterior to the first molars. A 50- year old female patient referred to the Dental Faculty of Ankara University, Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology with swelling that had been present for a long time. An extraorally palpable swelling extending from the anterior to the first molar region in the edentulous mandible was revealed in the clinical examination. A well- demarcated unilocular radiolucency with a sclerotic margin extending from the anterior to the first molar region and to the inferior border of mandible was detected in radiographic examination. Central giant cell granuloma was reported after the histopathological evaluation.
