Central Odontogenic Fibroma- A Case Report

Year 2016, Volume: 43 Issue: 1 - Volume: 43 Issue: 1, 43 - 48, 01.02.2016

Abstract

Central odontogenic fibroma COF is an uncommon benign neoplasm composed by varying amounts of inactive looking odontogenic epithelium embedded in a neoplastic mature and fibrous stroma. The lession COF is a benign, painless, slow-growing tumor associated with expansion of the bone cortex. The radiological findings of central odontogenic fibroma commonly include unior multilocular radiolucent area with a welldefined margin, which are similar to those of cysts and other benign tumors of the jawbone .Therefore, it is difficult to distinguish COF from these jawbone lessions on radiographs because of their noncharacteristic findings. To the best of our knowledge there are a few reports about the Cone Beam Computed Tomography CBCT findings of COF in the literature. This article presents a case of central odontogenic fibroma occuring in the left region of the mandible of a 25-year old female patient with the clinical findings, radiological invastigation with 3 dimensional and cross-sectional images of CBCT, diagnosis and treatment procedure

SANTRAL ODONTOJENİK FİBROMA- OLGU RAPORU

Year 2016, Volume: 43 Issue: 1 - Volume: 43 Issue: 1, 43 - 48, 01.02.2016
