Surface Roughness of Three Resin Composites Finished and Polished with different Systems

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two different finishing tecniques and two different polishing procedures on the surface roughness of one nano-filled composite Filtek Supreme XT , one nano-ceramic composite CeramX and one nano-hybrid composite Grandio . 35 disk-shaped specimens 5 mm diameter and 2 mm thickness were made for each composite resin by using stainless stell mold. Specimens were randomly divided into seven finishing and polishing procedures as follow: Group 1: Mylar strip as control , Group 2: Diamond finishing burs, Group 3: Diamond finishing burs+Optidisc, Group 4: Diamond finishing burs+Hi-Luster, Group 5: Tungsten carbide burs, Group 6: Tungsten carbide burs+Optidisc, Group 7: Tungsten carbide burs+Hi-Luster. Farklı sistemlerle bitirme ve cila uygulanan üç kompozit rezinin yüzey pürüzlülüğü

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı; nano-dolduruculu bir kompozit Filtek Supreme XT , bir nano-seramik kompozit CeramX ve bir nano-hibrit kompozitin Grandio yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerine iki farklı bitirme frezi ve iki farklı cila sisteminin etkisini araştırmaktır. Her kompozit rezin için paslanmaz çelik kalıplar kullanılarak disk şeklinde 5 mm çap-2 mm kalınlık 35 örnek hazırlandı. Örnekler bitirme ve cila prosedürlerine göre rastgele gruplara ayrıldı. Grup 1: Şeffaf bant control , Grup 2: Elmas bitirme frezleri, Grup 3: Elmas bitirme frezleri +Optidisc, Grup 4: Elmas bitirme frezleri +HiLuster, Grup 5: Tungsten karbit frez, Grup 6: Tungsten karbit frez +Optidisc, Grup 7: Tungsten karbit frez +Hi-Luster.
