Application Errors in Intraoral Radiography Techniques of Bisection and Bitewing Methods

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigateintraoral radiography with regards to frequencyand types of errorsIn the present study, 9792 intraoral radiographs taken by dental students and technicianswere evaluated. By using The bisecting and bitewing techniques, each radiograph was evaluatedfor errors by a radiology faculty member and theresults were recorded on a form.Among them, 3270 radiographs were found tohave at least 1 error, the most frequent one beingplacement of film to a level lower than the occlusallevel. Radiographic errors occured mostly in themaxilla molar-premolar region 54% . In addition,bitewing technique was found radiographic errors 24,7% .Incorrect film placement was the leading reason for retakesand most errors occured in maxillerand mandibuler premolar and molar regions

İntraoral radyografi tekniklerinden açıortay ve bitewing yöntemlerinin uygulama hataları

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı intraoral radyografitekniklerinden açıortay ve bitewing yöntemlerindeyapılan hataların sıklık ve tiplerini araştırmaktır.Bu çalışmada dişhekimliği öğrencileri veradyoloji teknisyenlerinin çektikleri 9792 radyografdeğerlendirilmiştir. Açıortay ve bitewing tekniklerikullanılarak alınan her bir radyograf bir dental radyolog taraf›ndan incelenmiş ve görülen hatalar bir forma kaydedilmiştir. Bu radyograflar›n 3270’inde en az bir hata bulunurken, "filmin okluzal seviyeden fazla aşağ›ya yerleştirilmesi" en s›k rastlanan hata olarak bulunmuştur. Radyografik hatalara en çok maksilla molar-premolar bölgesinden al›nan radyografilerde rastlanm›şt›r %54 . Ayr›ca bitewing tekniği %24,7 hata yap›lan teknik olarak bulunmuştur. Radyograf elde ederken en çok yap›lan hatalar yerleştirme hatalar› olup, en çok hata yap›lan bölgeler maksiller ve mandibuler premolar ve molar bölgelerdir
