Abstract

The aim of our study was to evaluate the effectof calcium hydroxide medicaments prepared withdifferent vehicles on postoperative pain in treatment of acute apical periodontitis. Study was performed on 60 patients who had single rooted teethwhich was diagnosed acute apical periodontitis.Root canals were prepared using crown-down technique with ProTaper. Patients were randomly divided 3 groups. Root canals medicated with calciumhydroxide pastes which was prepared with distilledwater, 2% chlorhexidine glukonate, and ultracaine.Pain scores of initials, after 24, 48 hours, and 7days were recorded. The data were analyzed usingX2test. When pain scores of initials, after 24, 48hours, and 7 days were evaluated, there were nostatistically significant differences among groups. As a result, the medicaments tested were effectiveelimination of postoperative pain after 7 days

AKUT APİKAL PERİODONTİTİSİN TEDAVİSİNDE FARKLI TAŞIYICILARLA HAZIRLANAN KALSİYUM HİDROKSİT ESASLI MEDİKAMANLARIN POSTOPERATİF AĞRI ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ

Abstract

Çal›şmam›z›n amac› akut apikal periodontitisli hastalar›n endodontik tedavilerinde farkl› taş›y›c›lar ile haz›rlanan kalsiyum hidroksit esasl› kök kanal medikamanlar›n›n postoperatif ağr› üzerine etkisini incelemektir. Çal›şmam›z akut apikal periodontitis teşhisi konulan tek köklü dişlere sahip 60 hasta üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Kök kanal preparasyonu "crown-down" tekniği ile ProTaper kullan›larak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Hastalar rastgele 3 gruba ayr›lm›şt›r. Kalsiyum hidroksit tozu distile su, %2 klorheksidin glukonat ve Ultrakain ile pat haline gelinceye kadar kar›şt›r›lm›ş ve haz›rlanan pat kök kanal›na yerleştirilmiştir. Hastan›n başlang›ç, 24, 48 saat ve 7 gün sonraki ağr› skorlar› kaydedilmiştir. Veriler X2 testi kullan›larak değerlendirildi. Başlang›ç, 24 saat, 48 saat ve 7 gün sonraki elde edilen ağr› skorlar›n›n değerlendirildiğinde kalsiyum hidroksit esasl› kök kanal medikamanlar› aras›nda istatistiksel olarak anlaml› bir farkl›l›k tespit edilmemiştir p>0.05 . Sonuç olarak çal›şmam›zda test edilen medikamanlar 7 gün sonunda postoperatif ağr›n›n eliminasyonunda etkin bulunmuştur.
