Assessment of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Kinematic Magnetic Resonance Imaging on Diagnosis of Temporomandibular Disorders

Abstract

This study was based on a group of 100patients with TMJ complaints who were attemptedto Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology,Faculty of Dentistry, Ankara University. The diagnosis was made which the age of the patient’s symptom and their clinical examination, and MR imaging and kinematic MR imaging findings. The findings were in agreement with the literature.In conclusion, it was found that the MR imaging and kinematic MR imaging technique’s diagnostic capabilities were the best for evaluating ofdisc displacements and TMJ pathologies

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Ankara Üniversitesi DişHekimliği Fakültesi, Oral Diagnoz ve RadyolojiAnabilim Dalına TME şikayetleri ile başvuran 100hasta üzerinde yapılmıştır. Hastaların TME ileilgili yakınmaları, klinik muayene bulguları sonucunda elde edilen ön bilgiler doğrultusunda MRgörüntüleme ve kinematik MR görüntülerikullanılarak tanı konulmuştur. Elde edilen bulguların literatürle uyumlu olduğu görülmüştür.Sonuç olarak, TME patolojilerinin ve özellikle disk deplasmanlarının değerlendirilmesinde bugörüntüleme tekniklerinin tanısal kapasitesi çok iyitekniklerdir
