[The effectiveness of schools principals (Uşak case)]

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of school principals through educational leadership, human resource management, school culture and climate, school environment and parents, budget and support management according to the teachers’ opinion. Moreover, the changes of the participant’ opinion have been tried to be determine according to the gender and seniority variables. A survey research methodology was employed in the study. The sample included 466 secondary school teachers in Uşak. In order to determine the differentiation of the school principals effectiveness through the five dimensions according to the seniority factor, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) has been used. Furthermore, in order to determine the differentiation of the school principals’ effectiveness through five dimensions according to the gender factor, t‐test has been used. Research findings show that the effectiveness of the school principals through five dimensions is on the “high” level. In addition to this result, teachers’ opinion does not show the diversity according to the gender and seniority factors

Okul yöneticilerinin etkililiği (Uşak ili örneği)

Abstract

Bu araştırma, öğretmenlerin görüşlerine göre okul müdürlerinin okullarda öğretim liderliği, insan kaynakları yönetimi, okulun kültürü‐iklimi, okul çevresi‐aile ve bütçe ve destek işleri boyutlarında etkililik düzeyini saptamayı amaçlamaktadır. Ayrıca katılımcıların her bir boyuttaki görüşlerinin cinsiyet ve kıdem değişkenlerine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı da saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma tarama modelindedir. Araştırmanın örnekleminde, Uşak ilinde çalışan 300 öğretmen bulunmaktadır. Katılımcıların görüşlerine göre okul müdürlerinin beş boyuttaki etkililiklerinin kıdem değişkenine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlenmesinde tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), cinsiyete göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemek içinde t‐testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan okul müdürlerinin etkililiklerinin tüm boyutlarda “çok” düzeyinde olduğunu göstermektedir. Bunun yanı sıra öğretmen görüşleri cinsiyet ve kıdem değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemektedir.
