Abstract

Pregnancy is a journey that takes about 40 weeks. During this period, a new life forms and grows in the uterus. Gestational diabetes is the most common endocrinological disorder in pregnancy. It can cause significant health problems in mother and baby. These problems can be counted as fetal macrosomia, cesarean section, birth defects, Type 2 DM and obesity in later periods. In addition to medical risk factors, it is important to know the effects of a diet rich in processed meats, saturated fats, simple carbohydrates and low in fiber on pregnant and infants, and to provide appropriate treatment in terms of reducing the risk of mortality and morbidity. This review article aimed to examine the effect of diet, macronutrients and vitamin-mineral intake from micronutrients on the formation of gestational diabetes.

Gestasyonel Diyabet Tedavisinde Beslenmenin Etkisi
