Abstract
It is known that, being one of poets of 18th century classical Turkish literature, Oflu Bilâl Efendi has four works, titled “Kıssa-i Yûsuf”, “Kıssa-i Erve”, “Nasîhatnâme” and “Hazreti İbrahim’in Oğlunu Kurban Etmek İstemesi”, recording into library catalogues. This article is about Oflu Bilâl Efendi’s advice book with identity rhyme “Pek Sakın (Pretty Beware)”. Three different copies of advice book, written in the verse form of qasida, belonging to Oflu Bilâl Efendi, has been able to be determined until now. The first copy is registered by number “Millet Yazma Eser Kütüphanesi Ali Emiri koleksiyonu (National Manuscript Library, Ali Emiri Collection) 7175”; second one is by number “İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Yazmaları koleksiyonu (Collection of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality Manuscripts) K.0633”, the third copy is by number “Milli Kütüphane Yazmalar Koleksiyonu (National Library Manuscripts Collection) 06 Mil Yz Cönk 16”. There are a lot of differences between three copies in terms of both number of couplet, and of word and word group used. Belonging to Oflu Bilâl Efendi, this advice book was been published before. But, deficiencies in the copy which were been taken as a basis in the publication made caused for it to be misevaluate in terms of the poet’s sense of art and prosody knowledge. To reconsider this evaluation, in this paper which a comparison of three copies was included, critical text of advice book, was created. In addition, it was stated that the copy, registered by number “İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Yazmaları koleksiyonu (Collection of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality Manuscripts) K.0633” and registered by number “Milli Kütüphane Yazmalar Koleksiyonu (National Library Manuscripts Collection) 06 Mil Yz Cönk 16” contains a more reliable text in comparison with other published copy in many.
