Abstract

Avarız defterleri, XVII ve XVIII. yüzyıl Osmanlı demografi tarihinin en önemli kaynağını oluşturmaktadır. Kazâ düzeyinde yapılan tahrirler sonucunda hazırlanan defterler, “mufassal”, “mufassal-icmâl” ve “icmâl” olmak üzere, kendi içinde üç gruba ayrılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, aynı tahrire dayalı olmakla beraber, içerdiği demografik veriler bakımından önemli farklılıklar gösteren üç defter örneği üzerinde durulmuştur. 1697-1698 tarihli Siroz avârız defterlerinin, aşağıda verilmiş olan kazâ merkezi ile ilgili kısımları, üç ayrı tarzda düzenlenmiş olan avârız defterleri arasındaki farkı ve buna göre değişen tabloyu açık bir şekilde ortaya koymaktadır

One Tahrir Three Registers: The Town of Serres According to the Avârız Registers of 1697-1698

Abstract

The avarız registers are the most important resources of the Ottoman demographical history in the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries. These registers which are prepared at the outcome of the tahrirs in each district, are divided into three groups as “mufassal”, “mufassal-icmâl” and “icmâl”. In this study three registers from the same tahrir, which show important differences due to containing the demographical data, are considered. The parts of the Siroz registers of 1697-1698 regarding the center of district bring up clearly the difference between these three types of avarız registers mentioned above and the variable panorama according to these
