Heinrich Friedrich von Diez’in Tepegöz Tercümesinde Yaptığı Yanlışlar

Abstract

Dede Korkut Destansı Hikâyeleri kendi öz kültürümüzü günümüze yansıtan en
önemli kaynak eserlerden biridir. Söz konusu bu destanların günümüze şimdilik
aktarılan iki nüshası bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan biri Ettore Rossi’nin Vatikan nüshası
diğeri ise Heinrich Friedrich von Diez’in Dresden nüshasıdır. Diez, söz konusu
nüshayı, H. O. Fleischer’in Dresden Kraliyet Kütüphanesinde tespiti akabinde ilk
ayrıntılı çalışmayı yapan, bu çalışmayı Berlin kütüphanesine koyan ve Tepegözü
Almancaya çeviren kişidir. Diez, 1811 ve 1815 tarihlerinde adına "folio" dediği iki
kitap çıkarmıştır. Yaklaşık 1500 sayfadan oluşan eserlerin ilkinde (1811) IX. bölümün
157. sayfasında “Buchdes Oghuz” (Oğuz’un Kitabı) şeklinde tercüme edebileceğimiz
yazı yer almaktadır. Söz konusu çalışma 49 sayfadan ibaret olup ilk dokuz
sayfasında bilgi aktarılırken kalan kısmında ise 200 söz yer almaktadır. 1815
yılında yayımlanan ikinci kitabında ise iki makale bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan ilki, 7.
bölümün 288-331. sayfalarında yer alan “Buch des Oghuz von Dede Korkut” (Dede
Korkut’un Oğuz Kitabı) şeklinde çevirebileceğimiz çalışmadır. Yine aynı eserde 14.
bölümün 399-457. sayfasında yer alan “Der neuendeckte oghuzische Cyklop
verglichen mit dem Homerischen” (Yeni Tespit Edilen Oğuz Cyklop’unun Homer’inki
ile Karşılaşılaştırılması” şeklinde tercüme edebileceğimiz eser yer almaktadır.
Çevirmiş olduğumuz bu çalışmada iki önemli tespit yapılmaktadır. Bunlardan biri
Dede Korkut’un hangi dönemde yaşamış olabileceği diğeri ise Yunan Cyklop’unun
Oğuz Tepegöz’ünden esinlendiği hususudur. Bu çalışma özellikle Yunan Mitolojisinde
yer alan Cyklop’un yani Yunan Tepegözü ile Oğuz Tepegözünü
karşılaştırarak Yunan Cyklop’unun Oğuz Tepegözünden esinlendiği ve bundan kopyalandığı
sonucunu ortaya çıkartmaktadır. Bu bakımdan söz konusu makalenin
Türkçe’ye çevirilmesi milletimiz adına oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Tarihî bir belge
niteliğinde olan bu çalışma, Tepegöz’ün kendi öz kültürümüzden doğduğu,
orijinal olduğu ve sahip çıkılması gerektiği hususunu da öne çıkarmaktadır

Fleischer’s discovery of the due sample in the Dresden Royal Library, Diez was the first person doing the first detailed job in taking the sampleto the Berlin Library and translating Cyclop into German. Diez published twobooks he called folio. In the first of the books (1811) that of which consists ofabout one thousand pages each, there is a writing that can he translated as “TheBook of Oghuz” placed on page 157 of chapter IX of the book “Buch des Oghuz”.The due book consists of 49 pages, in which information is given in the first ninepages and 200 sayings placed on the remaining pages. There are two manuscriptsplaced in the second book of his that was publisched in 1815. The first of them is"Buch des Oghuz von Dede Korkut" that can be translated as “Book of the Oghuzby Dede Korkut” and is placed on pages 288-331 of chapter 7.In the same bookon pages 399-457 of chapter 14 a writing takes place “Der neuendeckteoghuzische Cyklop verglichen mit dem Homerischen” that can be translated as“The Comparison of the newly found Oghuz Cyklop with that of Homer”. There aretwo important identifications made in this work translated by us. One of them isthe identification of the era in which Dede Korkut might have lived and the otheris the fact that the Greek Cyclop was inspired by the Cyclop of the Oghuz. Incomparing the Cyclop taking place in the Greek Mythology, that is comparing theGreek Cyclop and the Cyclop of the Oghuz, this work reveals the fact that theGreek Cyclop was inspired by the Cyclop of the Oghuz and thus comes to theconclusion that it was copied from this original. From this reason the translationof the due manuscript is of utmost importance concerning our nation. This workthat has a value as a historical script is also putting forward the claim that theCyclop was born out of our own culture, that it is original and that it has to becalled our own
