Term of “Vitta” and Their Localization in Fruit Anatomy of Apiaceae Family

             The family Apiaceae is one of the largest and cosmopolitan families among Angiosperm plants. One of the most typical features of this family is schizocarp type fruits. The morphological and anatomical characteristics of the fruit have quite distinctive characteristics. The outstanding of the most important fruit character is the location of “vitta” in terms of taxonomy. In this study, the terms related to fruit anatomy are examined in domestic and foreign literature and an up-to-date terminology which can be used to describe the location of vittae in the fruit anatomy has been prepared by carrying out anatomical studies on 20 different taxa naturally grown in our country. According to the results of this study, the vittae are generally divided into 4 groups and 5 different terms can be used to include different subfamilies and genera and a family-specific language richness can be used in the fruit anatomy.

Apiaceae Familyası Meyve Anatomisindeki “Vitta” Terimi ve Yerleşimleri

Öz

 Apiaceae familyası kapalı tohumlu bitkiler arasındaki en geniş ve kozmopolit familyalardan biridir. Familyanın en tipik özelliklerinden biri şizokarp tipte olan meyveleridir. Meyvenin morfolojik ve anatomik özellikleri oldukça önemli ayırt edici karakterlere sahiptir. Taksonomik açıdan en önemli meyve karakterlerinin başında ise “vitta” yani salgı kanallarının yerleşimi gelir. Bu çalışmada yerli ve yabancı literatürde meyve anatomisiyle ilgili terimler incelenmiş ve ülkemizde doğal olarak yetişen 20 farklı takson üzerinde anatomik çalışmalar yapılarak, meyve anatomisinde vittaların yerleşimini tanımlamak üzere kullanılabilecek güncel bir terminoloji hazırlanmıştır. Yapılan çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre vittalar genel olarak 4 gruba ayrılarak incelenmiş ve birbirinden farklı alt familyaları ve cinsleri de kapsayabilecek, bulundukları yeri belirtebilecek 5 terim ile meyve anatomisinde kullanılabilecek familyaya özgü bir dil zenginliği oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır.
