Year 2017, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 1 - 2, 20.05.2017

Abstract

Dear colleagues,

It is very exciting and challenging to present a new issue of our e-journal,
entitled EJESS [European Journal of Educational & Social Sciences], [May
2017], to the interdisciplinary literature.

EJESS has made a lot of progress since its foundation by a group of
young researchers from different disciplines in 2016. It has enriched its
members of advisory board to create a diverse interdisciplinary context for
researchers, applied for many indexes and updated its web site interface. The
aim of our journal is to present original research on educational and social
sciences in an interdisciplinary perspective covering sociology, education,
psychology, politics, theology, anthropology, literature, linguistics,
philosophy, history, human geography etc. Researches juxtaposing interdisciplinary
perspectives are highly welcomed and encouraged. It is of interest and open to all researchers,
academics, and those people concerned with mediating research findings to
practitioners. It welcomes researchers
interested in interdisciplinary research in social sciences using various
research methodologies, qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods.

In line with the
journal’s scope and objectives, this issue presents two papers from two
different settings. Panthi and Belbase, in their paper entitled “Teaching and
Learning Issues in Mathematics in the Context of Nepal”, discuss social and
radical constructivism within the context of Nepal. The authors provide an
extended point of view by presenting and focusing on the cultural, social,
political and technological aspects being influential while considering
teaching Mathematics in Nepal. Porrovecchio, in his manuscript titled ‘“I can’t
talk about this with you!” A reflexive and interdisciplinary mixed methods’
approach to adolescents’ sexuality’ utilizes both qualitative and quantitative
research methods to describe gender/sexual identity construction among
adolescents.
We hope that
the issues of our journal shall contribute to the field of interdisciplinary
research literature.

We thank to the journal editors, authors, reviewers
and all the others who have contributed to the preparation process of this
issue.

Hope to meet you in next issues.
