Open Access Policy

European Journal of Forest Engineering (EJFE) is a fully open-access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution.

1. Open Access Statement

EJFE adheres to the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) definition of open access. In accordance with this definition:

  • All articles published in EJFE are free to access immediately from the date of publication.
  • Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers.
  • The journal ensures that the copyright holder of the scholarly work grants usage rights to others using an open license (Creative Commons or equivalent), allowing for immediate and free access to the work.

2. Licensing

All articles published in EJFE are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This license permits others to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the work for non-commercial purposes, provided the original work is properly cited.

3. Copyright

Authors contributing to EJFE retain the copyright of their work without restrictions. By publishing in EJFE, authors grant the journal a right of first publication and the right to be identified as the original publisher of the work.

4. No Publication Fees (APC)

EJFE does not charge any article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or any other costs from authors at any stage of the publication process. All editorial and publication processes are free of charge to maintain the highest level of accessibility.

5. Archiving and Repository Policy

EJFE is committed to the long-term preservation of scholarly research.

  • Self-Archiving: Authors are encouraged to deposit all versions of their work (Submitted version, Accepted version, and Published version/Version of Record) in an institutional or other repository of their choice (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu, or personal websites) without any embargo period.
  • Digital Preservation: The journal's content is digitally preserved via LOCKSS and archived through the DergiPark system to ensure continued access in the future.
