Adjuvants used in plant protection
Abstract
Pesticides are a complementary element of modern agriculture and production period of all the agro-ecological systems in the world requires more pesticide application. Adjuvants are chemicals adding to formulations or mixtures, with the aim of obtaining expected benefits from pesticides. Two types of effect related to adjuvants would be mentioned. They increase efficiency of pesticides and also improve physical and chemical characteristics of application mixtures. Today, more than 3,000 chemical compounds delineated as adjuvant and they have a market share of 1,5 billion dollars in the world, although there is very limited information and research about on this subject in Turkey.
