A new record of Cheletomimus berlesei (Oudemans) (Acari; Cheyletidae) for the Turkish fauna

Abstract

In this study; two Cheyletid mites on park plant samples were determined from İstanbul. Of these, Chelotomimus berlesei (Oudemans, 1904) is a new record for the Turkish mite fauna; Chelotogenes ornatus (Canestrini & Fanzago, 1876) is previously recorded in Turkey.
The survey was carried out in İstanbul and included six species of plants namely Cedrus atlantica Endll.(Pinaceae), Cupressus arizonica Greene (Cupressaceae), Pitosporum tobira (Thunb.) (Pittosporaceae), Cupressus sempervirens L.(Cupressaceae), Eonymus fortunei (Turcz.) (Celastraceae), Acacia hayeseii Benth. (Fabaceae) In addtion to the morphological characters of C. berlesi, the measurements and drawings of various taxnomic chracters has been given.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada; İstanbul ilinden toplanan bitki örnekleri içerisinde Cheyletidae familyasuna ait 2 tür tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan Chelotomimus berlesei (Oudemans, 1904) Türkiye faunası için yeni kayıt olarak belirlenmiştir. Chelotogenes ornatus (Canestrini & Fanzago, 1876) ise daha önce Türkiye’den kaydedilmiş olan bir türdür.
İstanbul’daki survey Cedrus atlantica Endll.(Pinaceae), Cupressus arizonica Greene (Cupressaceae), Pitosporum tobira (Thunb.) (Pittosporaceae), Cupressus sempervirens L.(Cupressaceae), Eonymus fortunei (Turcz.) (Celastraceae), Acacia hayeseii Benth. (Fabaceae)’da yürütülmüştür. Ayrıca C. berlesei’nin morfolojik karakter, ölçüm ve taksonomik karakterleri verilmiştir
