New and little known Margarodidae (Hemiptera: Coccoidea) species in Turkey

Abstract

In this study it was aimed that to determine ground pearl insect Margorididae species in five province (Ağrı, Bitlis, Hakkari, Iğdır and Van) in Eastern Anatolia, between 2005 and 2008. For this goal Margarodidae species were collected on natural and cultural plants in five provinces. Totally five species were found, among them four species (Neomargarodes aristidae Borchsenius, Neomargarodes setosus Borchsenius, Porphyrophora jakubskii Vahedi and Porhyprophora jashenkoi Vahedi) are new species records for Turkish scale insect fauna.

Türkiye’de yeni ve az bilinen Margarodidae (Hemiptera: Coccoidea) türleri

Abstract

2005-2008 yılları arasında Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nin beş ilinde (Ağrı, Bitlis, Hakkari, Iğdır, Van) gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada, Margarodidae familyasına bağlı türlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma materyali çalışma alanı olarak belirlenmiş bölgede yayılış gösteren kültür bitkileri ve doğal florada bulunan bitkiler üzerinden toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, örneklemenin yapıldığı beş ilde toplam olarak beş adet margarodid türü tespit edilmiş ve bu türlerden dört tanesinin (Neomargarodes aristidae Borchsenius, Neomargarodes setosus Borchsenius, Porphyrophora jakubskii Vahedi ve Porhyprophora jashenkoi Vahedi) Türkiye faunası için yeni kayıt olduğu belirlenmiştir.
