Sürdürülebilir Finansın Yükselen Aracı: Yeşil Tahviller Üzerine Bibliyometrik Bir Değerlendirme

Abstract

Bu çalışma, çevresel sürdürülebilir projelere finansman sağlamak amacıyla ihraç edilen yeşil tahviller üzerine 2015-2025 yılları arasında akademik literatürü bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle incelemektedir. Yeşil tahviller yalnızca finansal getiri sunmakla kalmayıp, çevresel etkileri nedeniyle artan ilgi görmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, yeşil tahviller konusundaki araştırma eğilimlerini, tematik gelişmeleri, öne çıkan katkı sağlayıcıları ve mevcut durumu bütüncül bir bakış açısıyla ortaya koymaktır. Web of Science veri tabanında ekonomi kategorisinde yer alan 376 İngilizce makale seçilerek RStudio ortamında bibliometrix ve biblioshiny yazılımları aracılığıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda, yeşil tahvil literatürünün özellikle Paris İklim Anlaşması sonrası hızla geliştiği, tematik olarak yenilenebilir enerji, sürdürülebilir kalkınma ve iklim değişikliği odaklı çeşitlendiği ve dolayısıyla disiplinler arası çalışma potansiyelinin yüksek olduğu görülmektedir. Çin, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri (ABD) ve Avrupa ülkeleri hem yayın hem atıf sayıları bakımından öne çıkarken, akademik iş birliklerinin giderek arttığı ancak gelişmekte olan ülkelerde yeşil finansman potansiyelinin henüz yeterince kullanılmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma, literatürün mevcut yapısını haritalayarak, önde gelen yazarları, ülkeleri, anahtar sözcükleri ve trend konuları belirlemiş; gelecek araştırmalar için yönlendirici bir zemin sunmuştur.

The Rising Instrument of Sustainable Finance: A Bibliometric Assessment on Green Bonds

Abstract

This study examines the academic literature on green bonds—debt instruments issued to finance environmentally sustainable projects—using bibliometric analysis for the period between 2015 and 2025. Green bonds attract increasing attention not only for their financial returns but also for their environmental impacts. The aim of this research is to provide a comprehensive overview of research trends, thematic developments, key contributors, and the current state of green bond studies. A total of 376 English-language articles in the field of economics were retrieved from the Web of Science database and analyzed using the Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny packages in the RStudio environment. The results indicate that the literature on green bonds has expanded rapidly, particularly after the Paris Climate Agreement, with dominant themes including renewable energy, sustainable development, and climate change—highlighting the field's interdisciplinary potential. China, the United States, and European countries lead in both publication and citation counts. While international academic collaboration is increasing, the green finance potential in developing countries remains underutilized. This study maps the structure of the literature, identifies leading authors, countries, keywords, and trending topics, and offers a guiding framework for future research.
