Abstract
The fact that the traditional media has started to be replaced by the new generation media has led to some applications. One of them is internet tricks to increase the click-through rate of the new generation of media. These tricks, which are called 'clickbait' in the literature, are called 'clickbait' in our language. Although clickbait is viewed negatively in terms of the target audience in internet journalism, newspapers apply this method to increase the number of readers in the internet environment. In this direction, the subject of the study includes the examination of clickbait methods on websites that produce entertainment and social content. Scope of work; It is aimed to analyze the clickbait news headlines on mynet, onedio, and neoldu.com websites with the content analysis method, to identify the clickbait news headlines and to explain how such headlines are used. The study was inspired by the analysis of mainstream media, which is an extension of traditional media, and examined news headlines on websites that only produce entertainment content. As a result, it has been determined that clickbait news headlines are frequently used on websites that produce entertainment and social content, and a total of ten clickbait headlines are common on such sites. It has been observed that clickbait methods are frequently used in the selection of titles for the currently published news.
