Abstract
Carl Gustav Jung's theory of archetypes has been examined by many literary researchers and various literary works have been examined in the light of this method. It is possible to examine various narratives such as epics, fairy tales and legends with this theory. It is a known fact that archetypes are preserved in various forms in literary works by preserving their existence. Researchers such as Campbell and Frye have revealed how archetypes take their place in the works of the modern period by disguise. The hidden aspects of man's subconscious are important both in terms of literature and psychology. In our country, quality studies are carried out in this sense. It is important to examine the works of an important name in modern Turkish storytelling, such as Sait Faik Abasıyanık, in terms of archetypal symbolism. In this study; two stories, which are the continuation of each other, named Sivriada Sabahı and Sivriada Geceleri, are examined in terms of archetypal symbolism and evidences belonging to the common heritage of humanity are revealed. By establishing a connection between literary works with a method belonging to modern psychology, the face of literature that touches life is examined. The archetypal symbolism method and the traces of this method in the story of Sait Faik will shed light on future studies.
