Evil, with its mode of existence and reasons, has been in the field of interest of many thinkers since the early ages. Thinkers who investigate whether the evil in man is innate or develops as a result of experiences, evaluates evil in various classes and deals with the evil in human nature in a way that is related to moral collapse. Peyami Safa, while building his works on the East-West comparison, similar to the explanations of the thinkers, does not neglect to resolve the sources of evil and moral evil. Villains are depicted in relation to the deteriorated social structure. These villains, who threaten the values that traditional Turkish society considers sacred, ignore the social values for the sake of their interests and emulate Western life. The evil potential of the heroes, who are victims of their greed for financial gain and a comfortable life, causes many families to break up with their excessive behavior. In Canan's novel, the problem of evil is handled as a moral problem. In this study, the concept of evil will be examined with examples from traditional and modern family life. The results of the conscious choices of the good and the bad of the two women who grew up in different upbringings will be exemplified through traditional and modern family structures.
