Abstract
Contemporary Education Journal, one of the education journals that has been active in Turkey and has made an impact after the Republic, started its publishing life under the leadership of Hüseyin Hüsnü Tekışık and continued its publications without interruption between 1976-2013. In the journal, together with education problems, problems experienced by teachers and solution suggestions were discussed. In this study, it is aimed to examine the issues of Contemporary Education Journal published between 1987-1999 in terms of teachers' problems. Survey model was preferred in the study, document analysis and content analysis were used. The most important problems faced by teachers are issues such as economic problems, problems in pre-service training, decline of the prestige of the teaching profession, decrease in successful young people's preference for teaching profession, problems of finding housing in the places where teachers are assigned. When the findings are compared with current research, it can be seen that most of the problems of teachers have not been solved and that similar problems continue today. It is believed that it is important for policy makers to examine studies on educational history and to act with lessons from the past.
