Abstract
Education is the whole of activities that bring together the educator and the learner. Distance education models have been developed for situations where it is difficult for the learner and the teacher to come together on the same platform. Covid-19, which emerged in the last months of 2019 and affected the world, was accepted as an epidemic by the "World Health Organization" and face-to-face training was suspended in order to reduce the effectiveness of the epidemic. In Turkey, the Ministry of National Education started the distance education process with the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, and the teachers continued their education through digital systems. In the distance education process; The creation of education plans, the desire to determine whether it is effective in presenting the information to the students in a controlled way, and its evaluation in the light of the developments in the fields of information and communication enabled this research to be considered as a problem. “Quantitative method” was used in this study, in which secondary school students' perceptions of distance education applied during the epidemic were evaluated. The research was designed with "descriptive survey". “The universe of the research” is all secondary school students in public schools in Altınova district of Yalova province. The “working group” is 334 students in 9 state secondary schools in Altınova. "Student Information Form" and "Middle School Students' Distance Education Perceptions Scale" prepared by the researcher were applied online via electronic media. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that there is no significant difference between the demographic characteristics of the students, such as gender, the location of the house and the class level, and the views on distance education. On the other hand, it has been determined that there is a significant difference between the age, the number of siblings and the number of vehicles that can be connected to distance education and their views on distance education.
