Abstract
From the past to the present, human beings have been endeavoring to fulfill their aesthetic needs in addition to satisfying their physical conditions in accordance with the requirements of the locations they live. Art plays a substantial part in there. An emotional connection is established between human and space with the use of works of art in architectural structures. Hospitals, which are the most important places of human life, are important structures built to meet the health needs. Hospitals, where people visit compulsorily when they have health-related problems, include places and locations that have negative connotations within the society. In this context, it has been observed that there have been significant changes and alterations in the design and artistic endeavors in hospital premises for the purpose of impairing and eliminating this perception in recent years. Research have proven the healing power of arts. Ceramic wall panels also take their place as aesthetic expression language in the waiting rooms and various locations and spaces of many hospitals today. The aim of this study is to present examples of artworks and especially ceramic wall panels in our country and abroad by conducting a literature review of the research in this field based on the healing power of art. In the context of this study, the ceramic wall panel design and application process in Aksaray Güzelyurt District State Hospital, serving as an example, have been assessed accordingly.
