Aesthetic Restoration of a Traumatized Crown Fracture: Case Report

Abstract

Dental traumas have a detrimental effect on patients' appearance, functionality and phonetics. In the childhood and adolescence period, fractures of the maxillary incisors due to trauma are among the most prevalent dental injuries. This case report details a sixteen-year-old female patient who applied to our clinic with a complaint of a fracture in her left upper central tooth, following the occurrence of a traumatic incident six months ago. A comprehensive intraoral and radiological examination revealed an uncomplicated horizontal fracture in the upper left central tooth. Initial photographs were taken, and shade selection was performed using button technique. Following rubber-dam isolation, the fracture line of the tooth was beveled with a yellow-belted lobut drill. The enamel surface was roughened using 35% orthophosphoric acid (Ultra Etch, Ultradent, ABD) and universal adhesive agent (G-Premio Bond, GC, Japan) was applied. Palatal wall was formed with the aid of a silicone key, the restoration was completed using the direct resin composite layering technique (AO2, A2; G-eanial A'chord, GC Japan). Restoration was polished with discs (OptiDisc, Kerr, Switzerland), tungsten carbide burs (Horico, Germany), spirals (Diacomp Plus Twist, EVE, Germany), and polishing paste (Dia Polisher Paste, GC, Japan). The patient was recalled to follow-up sessions at 1, 3 and 6 months post-treatment, during which the restorations were evaluated according to the FDI criteria.

Travmaya Bağlı Oluşan Kron Kırığının Estetik Restorasyonu: Vaka Sunumu

Abstract

Dental travmalar hastaları estetik, fonksiyonel ve fonetik olarak olumsuz etkiler. Çocukluk ve ergenlik döneminde travmaya bağlı maksiller kesici dişlerin kron kırıkları en sık görülen dental yaralanmalar arasındadır. Bu olgu sunumunda on altı yaşında kadın hasta sol üst santral dişinde 6 ay önce travma sonucu oluşan kırık şikayetiyle kliniğimize başvurdu. İntraoral ve radyolojik muayeneler sonucunda sol üst santral dişinde komplike olmayan horizontal kron kırığı tespit edildi. Başlangıç fotoğrafları alınıp buton tekniği ile renk seçimi yapıldı. Rubber-dam izolasyonu sonrası dişin kırık hattına sarı kuşaklı lobut frezle bizotaj yapıldı. Mine yüzeyi %35’lik ortofosforik (Ultra Etch, Ultradent, ABD) asitle pürüzlendirildikten sonra üniversal adeziv ajan (G-Premio Bond, GC, Japonya) uygulandı. Silikon anahtar yardımıyla palatal duvar oluşturulduktan sonra direkt rezin kompozit tabakalama tekniği (AO2, A2; G-eanial A’chord, GC, Japonya) kullanılarak restorasyon tamamlandı. Polisaj diskleri (OptiDisc, Kerr, İsviçre) ve tungsten karbid (Horico, Almanya) frezlerle restorasyonların bitim işlemleri yapıldıktan sonra, spiraller (Diacomp Plus Twist, EVE, Almanya) ve polisaj patı (Dia Polisher Paste, GC, Japonya) kullanılarak polisaj işlemleri tamamlandı. Hasta 1, 3 ve 6 aylık takipler için çağrıldı ve kontrol seansları sırasında restorasyonlar FDI kriterlerine göre skorlandı.
