Abstract

Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndaki Ermeni nüfusu her daim tartışma konusuolmuştur. Günümüzde de devam eden bu tartışmalar, özellikle tehcir öncesi vesonrası Ermeni nüfusunun ne olduğu noktasında yoğunlaşmaktadır. Bu gözönünde bulundurulduğunda, ilk aşamada tehcir öncesindeki Osmanlı Ermenilerinüfusu ve bu döneme ait Osmanlı’daki nüfus çalışmalarının mahiyetininbelirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu gereklilik nedeniyle çalışmamızda, Osmanlı nüfusaraştırmalarının geçmişi ve tehcir öncesinde İmparatorlukta var olan Ermeninüfusunun ne olduğu incelenmiştir

(AN EVALUATION OF OTTOMAN ARMENIAN POPULATION BEFORE THE RELOCATION)

Abstract

The Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire has always been adebatable issue. These discussions which also continue today, especially focuson what the Armenian population has been before and after the relocation.Taking this into consideration, the first step would be to determine the Armenianpopulation before the relocation and the outcome of the population researchescarried out during the Ottoman period. As a result, the following article dealswith the history of Ottoman population researches and what the Armenianpopulation has been in the Empire before the relocation
