Yeme Bozukluklarının Kanser Oluşumundaki Rolü

Abstract

Beslenme ve yeme bozuklukları, başka herhangi bir sağlık durumuyla açıklanamayan, gelişimsel olarak uygun olmayan veya kültürel olarak onaylanmayan anormal yeme ve beslenme davranışlarını içermektedir. Yaygın olarak bilinen beslenme ve yeme bozuklukları; anoreksiya nervoza, bulimia nervoza ve tıkınırcasına yeme bozukluğudur. 2019 yılında Dünya çapında 55.5 milyon kişinin herhangi bir beslenme ve yeme bozukluğuna sahip olduğu tahmin edilmektedir.
Beslenme ve yeme bozuklukları, bireyleri kansere karşı çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı daha savunmasız hale getirebilmekte veya bazı kanserlere karşı koruyu olabilmektedir. Kanser ve yeme bozuklukları arasındaki ilişki son yıllarda dikkat çekmeye başlamıştır ancak bu konudaki çalışmalar oldukça sınırlı sayıdadır. Beslenme ve yeme bozukluklarının kanserin oluşumu üzerindeki etkisini anlamak, kanserin önlenmesi ve tedavisi için önem arz etmektedir.
