Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma, gebelere prenatal tanı ve tarama yöntemleri ile ilgili bilgilendirme videosu izletmenin, yöntemlere ilişkin danışmanlık memnuniyeti, karar memnuniyeti ve tutumlarına etkisinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki araştırma Etlik Zübeyde Hanım Kadın Hastalıkları Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Gebe Poliklinikleri ve Bilgilendirme Polikliniğinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma prenatal tanı ve tarama testleri ile ilgili video bilgilendirmesini izlemiş grup (n=55) ile, bilgilendirme videosu izletme hizmetini almayı kabul etmemiş ve sadece hekim tarafından bilgilendirilmiş grup (n=57) arasında bilgilendirme yöntemlerine ilişkin danışmanlık memnuniyeti, karar memnuniyeti ve tutumları tanımlanmış ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; tanımlayıcı istatistik olarak sayı, yüzde, ortalama ve standart sapma, veri özelliklerine göre bağımlı ve bağımsız gruplarda parametrik ve nonparametrik yöntemler kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar %95 güven aralığında anlamlılık p<0,05 düzeyinde değerlendirilmiştir.
Bulgular: Araştırma grubunun yaş ortalaması 29,30±6,45’dir ve gruplar arasında sosyodemografik ve obstetrik özellikler yönünden farklılık bulunmamaktadır (p>0,05). Araştırmada prenatal tanı ve tarama testleri ile ilgili verilen karardan memnuniyet düzeyi video bilgilendirmesi yapılmış grupta (%94,5) video bilgilendirmesi yapılmamış gruba (%78,4) göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksektir (p<0,05). Prenatal tanı ve tarama testlerine yönelik tutum ölçeği puanı bilgilendirme videosu izleyen grupta istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksektir (p˂0,001).
Sonuç: Bilgilendirme videosu izletilmesi prenatal tanı ve tarama testleri ile ilgili verilen karardan memnuniyet düzeyini artırmada ve prenatal tanı ve tarama testlerine yönelik olumlu tutum geliştirmede etkilidir. Video bilgilendirme yöntemi ile verilen bilgilerin standardizasyonu sağlanabilir.

Obtaining Informed Consent Using Informational Video

Abstract

Purpose: This study examined the impact of watching an informational video about prenatal diagnostic and screening methods on satisfaction with counseling, satisfaction with decision making, and attitudes toward the methods.
Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted at Etlik Zübeyde Hanım Gynecology Training and Research Hospital for pregnant women. Satisfaction with counseling, satisfaction with decision making and attitudes were defined and compared between the group (n=55) who watched the information video about prenatal diagnosis and screening tests and the group (n=57) who did not watch the information video and were only informed by the doctor. In analyzing the data, number, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used as descriptive statistics, and parametric and nonparametric methods were used in dependent and independent groups according to the data characteristics. The results were evaluated at the level of significance p < 0.05 at 95% confidence interval.
Results: The mean age of the study group was 29.30±6.45 years, and there was no difference between the groups in terms of sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics (p > 0.05). In the study, the level of satisfaction with the decision made regarding prenatal diagnosis and screening tests was statistically significantly higher in the group with video education (94.5%) than in the group without video education (78.4%) (p<0.05). Scores on the attitude scale toward prenatal diagnostic and screening tests were significantly higher in the group that had watched the informational video (p˂0.001).
Conclusion: Watching an informational video helps to increase satisfaction with decision making about prenatal diagnostic and screening tests and to develop positive attitudes toward prenatal diagnostic and screening tests. The video information method can achieve standardization of information.
