The publication of ETUT Journal is based on the development and sharing of qualified information with its readers in a respectable, impartial, and effective manner. ETUT Journal is an open access scientific journal published twice in December and June.
The journal, which is open to articles on issues related to world history, national and regional history, also includes books, criticism, and evaluation articles. The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English. The journal's target audience consists of academicians, researchers, professionals, graduate students, and related professional, academic institutions and organizations.
- Although the footnote citation system is generally applied in our journal, the APA citation system is also accepted. However, a single citation system should be adhered to in an article.
- Information including the title, institution, and e-mail address of the author will be given at the bottom of the first page by adding the (*) symbol and will be in 10 points. *Prof. Dr., Erzurum Technical University, Faculty of Letters, Department of History eposta@example.com
- All publication rights of the articles published in the journal belong to ETUT Journal. If articles are decided not to be published, they are returned to the author together with the referee report. The publication and copyright of the articles accepted for the publication belong to ETUT Journal. No fees are paid to the author for the published articles. - The Turkish title will be Times New Roman 14 points, the English title will be Times New Roman 11 points. Turkish and English Abstract should consist of 120-130 words and should be 9 points. - A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 keywords should be added to the abstract in Turkish and English. - The main text should be Times New Roman, 11 pt, justified, and the line spacing should be at least 15 pt. - Margins; top 3; right, left, and bottom should be 2 cm. - Tables can be 9 points if necessary, indent right and left “0”; range before and after “0”; line spacing should be "single". - References 10 point, hanging 1.25. - One line space should be left before the subheadings. - Footnotes will be Times New Roman 9 points. Footnotes will be justified, left and right indent “0” spacing before and after “0” line spacing “single”. In the footnotes given at the bottom of the page, the names of the books, encyclopedias and journals should be shown in italics, and the article name in quotation marks in plain text. - In the footnotes, the full name of the references should be given in the first place, and logical abbreviations should be made in the second and subsequent uses.

Publication Policy and Publication Ethics
Erzurum Technical University, Faculty of Letters, History Journal (ETUT) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed academic history journal published twice a year, in June and December, since 2020. The publication process in the journal consists of pre-control, evaluation, editing, and publication stages. The articles published in the journal are presented to the readers with open access. Articles submitted for publication must be in Turkish or English. The journal, which is open to articles on issues related to world history, national and regional history, also includes book criticism and evaluation articles. No fee is charged for the articles published in ETUT Journal, and the authors and reviewers are also not paid. Reported studies should be prepared under ethical principles, and the references made in the text should be clearly stated. In the studies, the upper limit of the acceptable similarity rate was determined as 20%. The ideas and opinions expressed in the published articles do not reflect the journal's opinion and are the responsibility of each article author. The journal's target audience consists of academicians, researchers, professionals, students and related professionals, academic institutions, and organizations. The publication process in ETUT Journal is based on the development and sharing of qualified information with its readers in a respectable, impartial, and effective manner. The processes carried out in line with this goal directly affect the quality of the work of the research author and the institutions that support them.
For this reason, authors, researchers, publishers, referees, editors, readers, etc., are responsible for the process. Every element must behave under ethical principles. Each of these elements must pay attention to the ethical responsibilities written below in the light of the guidelines and policies prepared by the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE).
Ethics and Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
Editors are responsible for each article published in ETUT Journal and acts under the following ethical responsibilities within this framework.
- When deciding to send the articles submitted for publication to the referee, the editors ensure that the articles are original, effective, and contribute to the relevant field. By paying attention to the journal's publication policies, the editors meticulously apply the principles of blind refereeing and the evaluation process, keep the identity of the referees confidential, and contribute to the impartial and timely evaluation of each study.
- Editors send the articles by considering the fields of expertise of the field editors and referees.
- The editors strive for the development of the journal and pay due attention to the objective evaluation of the work. Accordingly, they try to expand and update the referee pool as much as possible.
- Editors pay utmost attention to protecting personal data, taking into account intellectual property rights and ethical standards.
- Editors pay attention to the principles of openness and transparency in terms of publication in matters that require correction or clarification. Editors consider the complaints or complaints about the journal investigation and provide the necessary feedback on time.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Every author or authors who submits a study to be published in ETUT Journal is expected to act according to the ethical conditions below.
- It is expected that the works submitted to ETUT Journal by the author need to be original.
- The author should cite the sources that used during the article's writing under ethical principles and correctly.
- Persons who did not directly contribute to the content of the study while preparing the study should not be specified as authors.
- Authors who submit articles to ETUT Journal should not submit their work to more than one journal at the same time.
- The author cannot recommend changing author responsibilities such as adding, removing, or changing the order of authors after the evaluation process has started.
-Authors should fulfill their responsibility to provide information or resources regarding their work if the editors deem it necessary.
- The author should have a document proving that the data used in the studies require the decision of the Ethics Committee, that they have the necessary permissions for the research, that the consent of the subjects used is obtained if the study is an experiment. These documents should be uploaded to the system with the application of the article. The studies that require the approval of the Ethics Committee are as follows.
* All kinds of research are conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, and interview techniques.
* The use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
* Clinical studies on humans,
* Studies on animals,
* Retrospective studies under the law on the protection of personal data,
Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
Studies submitted to ETUT Journal for publication are included in the publication process with the principle of double-blind refereeing. The referees determined by the journal cannot contact the authors directly. If necessary, evaluations and explanations about the study are notified to the author through the journal management system. During this period, evaluation forms and referee comments or correction requests for the studies are notified to the authors through the editor. In this framework, referees who want to contribute to ETUT Journal should act under the following ethical principles. - Reviewers should only approve studies related to their area of expertise to evaluate them. - Referees should conduct their evaluations within the framework of the principles of impartiality and confidentiality. - When reviewers realize that there is a possible conflict of interest or conflict of interest, they should reject the evaluation of the work and submit information to the editors. - Referees should consider academic etiquette when conducting the assessment. In this direction, they should constructively make their criticisms; Personal comments containing insults and hatred should be avoided. - The referees should show the necessary sensitivity not to exceed the evaluation process and express the reasons for acceptance or rejection of their evaluations in detail and in a way that convinces the author. - Referees should consider ethical responsibilities when evaluating studies.
Publisher's Ethical Responsibilities
ETUT Journal, which is in the public interest, is published to present qualified academic studies to the field of history and enable readers to come together with quality publications. The journal is in no way non-profit. Editorial Board of ETUT Journal; It consists of two editors, an assistant editor, a language editor, and field editors. The vacancy of the person who left the editorial board is filled, and a new member is appointed in his place. Depending on the article's subject, the editor may send an article for review as a field editor, when necessary, to experts in the field who are not members of the Editorial Board and have at least a doctorate title.
Double-Blind Refereeing
After plagiarism control, eligible articles are evaluated by the editor-in-chief for originality, methodology, importance of the topic covered, and compatibility with the journal scope. The editor ensures that the articles go through a fair double-blind refereeing and if the article complies with the formal principles, it submits the incoming article for the evaluation of at least two referees from the country and/or abroad.
Alerting an Unethical Situation to the Editor
In case of any behavior inconsistent with the ethical principles of the editors, authors, and referees in ETUT Journal, or an unethical situation during the evaluation process, it should be reported to etut@erzurum.edu.tr via e-mail.
Erzurum Technical University covers all expenses of the journal. The publication of articles and the execution of article processes in the journal are free. No processing fee or any other fee is charged for articles submitted to the journal or accepted for publication.
