UMUT UZER is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology at Istanbul Technical University. He is the author of two books, namely An Intellectual History of Turkish Nationalism (2016) and Identity and Turkish Foreign Policy (2011) and has published “Conservative Narrative: Contemporary Neo-Ottomanist Approaches in Turkish Politics,” Middle East Critique 29 (3) (2020), as well as other articles on Palestine and Türkiye, Israeli-Turkish relations, Turkish nationalism and neo-Ottomanism in Middle East Policy, Israel Studies Review, Israel Affairs, Turkish Studies, Journalism, Journal of the Middle East and Africa and Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs.
Dr. Uzer was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and has taught at Smith College, University of Utah and Boğaziçi University. For his doctoral studies, he attended University of Virginia, where he wrote his Ph.D. dissertation with William Quandt.

Ali Hepşen completed his high school education at Bornova Anatolian High School in İzmir province and then pursued his studies at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Business Administration (English programme), graduating in 2002. Upon graduation, he commenced the Finance Master’s Programme at the Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute, graduating in 2004 and earning the designation of Finance Specialist. He pursued his doctoral studies at the same institute, culminating in 2010 with the attainment of the title of Doctor of Philosophy. In recognition of his academic contributions, he was conferred the title of associate professor in 2012 and subsequently full professor in 2018. Since 2002, he has been employed at the Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Finance, where he has published three books and numerous articles in the realm of real estate finance, his area of expertise.
