The q-Analogues of Min and Max Matrices and their Algebraic Properties
Abstract
This study introduces a new family of matrices, the q -analogues, by generalizing the classical Min and Max matrices with entries from the q -calculus. The fundamental algebraic properties of these matrices, such as determinant, inverse, characteristic polynomial, LU decomposition, and Frobenius and spectral norms, are systematically investigated. The results are supported by low-dimensional numerical examples demonstrating the validity of the formulas. This study makes a significant contribution to the literature on Min and Max matrices by providing a comprehensive analysis of a q -dependent parametric extension of these matrices.
