Chondroblastoma of the Talus: An Atypical Localisation

Abstract

Chondroblastoma is a very rare bone tumor of cartilaginous origin. Talar involvement is very rare with a few number of reports. We present an unusual case of chondroblastoma localized in talus. The patient was admitted with ankle pain worsens with motion. Radiological evaluation showed a lesion with sclerotic margins, that destructed the lateral cortex of the talus. The lesion was treated with extraarticular curretage and autogenous bone grafting. At the end of the 70 months follow-up, the patient had no complaints and clinical or radiological findings about local recurrence or metastases.

Talus Yerleşimli Kondroblastom: Atipik Bir Lokalizasyon

Öz

Kondroblastom kıkırdak doku kökenli bir tümördür. Talusta yerleşimi çok nadir görülmektedir. Bu yazıda, talusta yerleşimli kondroblastom tespit edilen bir hasta sunuldu. Hastanın 12 aydır devam eden, hareketle artan ağrısı mevcuttu. Radyolojik incelemede talusun lateralinde sklerotik sınırlı, kortikal harabiyet yapan lezyon saptandı. Lezyon ekstraartiküler olarak kürete edilerek, olşan kavite otogreftle dolduruldu. Yetmiş aylık takip ve kontrolü sonrasında hastada hiçbir klinik yakınma ya da lokal nüks veya metastaza ait klinik ve radyolojik bulgu saptanmadı.
