Diffusion-weighted MRI of Meningiomas: Correlation with Histopathologic Results

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determinate the contribution of diffusion-weighted (DW) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to the differentiation of atypical and typical meningiomas and to the determination of histological subtypes of typical meningiomas. Materials and Methods: Fourteen patients (age range between 37-77) with meningiomas were included to this study. Using routine MRI sequences, meningiomas were diagnosed and DW images were performed using factor of b-0 and b-1000. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values were measured in the lesion, normal area of parenchyma and peritumoral edema. Student t-test was used for statistical analysis. P

Menenjiomlarda Difüzyon Ağırlıklı MRG Bulgularının Histopatolojik Sonuçlarla Karşılaştırılması

Öz

Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı atipik ve tipik menenjiomların ayrımında ve tipik menenjiomların alt tiplerinin ayrımında difüzyon ağırlıklı (DA) manyetik rezonans görüntüleme (MRG)'nin tanıya olan katkılarını saptamaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Yaşları 34 ile 77 yaş arasındaki değişen 14 menenjiom olgusu çalışmaya dahil edildi. Rutin MRG sekansları ile menenjiomlar tanımlandı ve b-0, b-1000 faktör değerlerinde DA MRG sekanslar elde edildi. Lezyon içerisinden, lezyon komşuluğundaki normal parankim alanından ve peritümöral ödemden aşikar difüzyon katsayısı (ADC) ölçümleri yapıldı. Student t-testi kullanılarak istatistiksel analiz yapıldı. P
