Laparoscopic Resection of Appendix Cystadenom: A Case Report

Abstract

Mucinous cystadenoma is a rare clinical finding of the appendix. Today, most laparoscopic procedures and appendectomy are performed commonly on elective basis, but some surgeons are avoiding to laparoscopic approach in diagnosis of mucinous cystadenoma because a spontaneus or iatrogenic rupture can lead to pseudomyxoma peritonei. Although, there are some case reports that were operated with laparoscopic surgery with-out any complication. In the light of the literature, we report herein the case of 44-year-old man, laparoscopic appendectomy was performed and after twenty six months follow up, patient did not have any complication belong to disease.

Laparoskopik Appendiks Müsinöz Kistadenom Rezeksiyonu: Olgu Sunumu

Öz

Müsinöz kistadenom apandiksin nadir görülen bir lezyonudur. Günümüzde laparoskopik girişimlerin yaygın olarak uygulanmasına ve laparoskopik appendektomilerin başarıyla yapılabilmesine rağmen appendiks müsinöz kistadenomda operasyon esnasında rüptür ve batına müsin yayılmasına bağlı pseudomyxoma peritonei oluşturma riski nedeniyle mukosel saptanan olgularda cerrahlar laparoskopik apandektomi girişiminden uzaklaşmaktadır. Ancak literatürde laparoskopik olarak başarıyla gerçekleştirilmiş ve komplikasyon gelişmemiş olgular da vardır. Laparoskopik olarak başarıyla opere ettiğimiz ve takibinin 26. ayında herhangi bir komplikasyon gelişmeyen 44 yaşındaki erkek olguyu literatür bilgileri ışığında sunduk.
