Baharistan, which the orginal name is Ravzatu'l-Ahyâr ve Tuhfetü'l-Ebrâr, consists of an introduction, eight parts, and a conclusion. In these eight parts the main subjects are the views, ideas and writings of famous sophists; the attributes of justice, moderation which must belong to the administrators; generosity and the manners of generous people; love and the characteristics of lovers; anecdotes; poems and poets; stories told by aminals (fables) and the lessons to be taken from them. The most significiant part of Baharistan, in fact, the seventh part "yedinci ravza" in which the poets are mentioned. In this part, cami writes the biographies of 39 of previous poets. This article mostly focuses on this part. This part is evaluated in terms of tezkerecilik tradition and it is examined in terms of biographic knowledge and poem critiques.
