Şathiye Tradition in Turkish Literature and the Şathiyes of Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu

Abstract

Şathiye is kind of poetry that handles different subjects of Islamic mysticism with a sense of humor, and read with exuberance. Various poems of this kind have been written in Turkish Falk Literature. Yunus Emre, Kaygusuz Abdal, Nesimi, Hacı Bayram, Pir Sultan Abdal, and Abdal Musa are the first important figures that remind this tradition to readers. Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu, making use of this tradition, keeps on witting Şathiyes after Turkish Republic. In his Şathiyes, Eyuboglu questions the presence of God. But, in the end, like many other poets, he does not neglect to yields in God's sovereignty.

Türk Edebiyatında Şathiye Geleneği ve Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu'nun Şathiyeleri

Abstract

Şathiye, tasavvufi konulan mizahlı bir biçimde işleyen, coşku hâlinde söylenen bir şiir türüdür. Türk halk edebiyatında bu türde birçok şiirler söylenmiştir. Yunus Emre, Kaygusuz Abdal, Nesimi, Hacı Bayram, Pir Sultan Abdal, Abdal Musa bu konuda akla gel en ilk isimlerdir. Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu, bu gelenekten faydalanarak Cumhuriyet'ten sonra bu şiir türünü devam ettirir. Şathiyelerinde Tanrı'yı sorgular. Fakat neticede o da çoğu şairler gibi Tanrı'ya sığınmayı ihmal etmez.
