Abstract

Geri kalmış toplumların ortak özelliği cehalettir. Fakat tek başına cehalet değil, bununla birlikte estetik yozluğun da ciddi bir payı vardır. Bilginin, ahlâkın ve ince zevklerin bir ürünü olan sanat geleneği ile insanlar bireysel ve toplumsal düzeyde medeni olmayı başarabilmişlerdir. İslâmiyet’in doğuşu ile toplumdaki sanat anlayışı ve estetik duygusunun ifade biçiminde ortaya çıkan farklılıklar zaman içinde tartışmaları ve ayrışmaları beraberinde getirmiştir. Oysa İslâm sanatının esas karakterini belirleyen husus, İslâm’ın tevhid akidesidir. İslâm sanatını icra eden sanatkâr da bu tevhid akidesi ışığında bedii zevklere uygun özgün bir eser ortaya koyar. Nusret Çam’ın bu kitabında İslâm sanatında tasvir meselesini dinî delillerin yanı sıra İslâm’ın insanı nasıl kavradığı yönünde farklı bir bakış açısıyla ele alınarak İslam’ın sanatla ve sanatın İslâm’la barışık olabileceği vurgulanmaktadır. İslâm sanatına dair ideolojik yaklaşımların zamanla daha olumlu hale getirilmesi, dinî ve millî bir hassasiyet ile sanat tarihi araştırmalarını yaygınlaştırdığı ve sistematikleştirdiği ortaya konmuştur. Erken dönem İslâm sanatında ön plana çıkan yapıların tarihçeleri ve mimari unsurları açıklanmıştır.

Abstract

The common characteristic of underdeveloped societies is ignorance. However, not only ignorance but also aesthetic degeneracy plays a significant role. People have been able to become civilized at the individual and societal levels by means of art tradition which is a product of knowledge, morality, and good taste. With the birth of Islam, the differences between the understanding of art in society and the expression of a sense of aesthetics have led to discussions and divergences over time. Whereas the aspect which determines the fundamental criterion of the art of Islam is the Islamic doctrine of tawhid. In the light of this tawhidic creed, the artist who performs Islamic art creates an original work in accordance with artistic tastes. In this book by Nusret Cam, the issue of depiction in Islamic art is discussed from a different perspective in terms of how Islam comprehends human beings, as well as religious evidence. Hence it is emphasized that Islam can be reconciled with art and art with Islam. It has been revealed that ideological approaches to Islamic art have become more affirmative over time. This case has made art history studies widespread and systematized with religious and national sensitivity. The histories and architectural elements of the prominent buildings in early Islamic art are explained.
