Abstract

Abstract
Because of causing a large amount of migration and because of the involvement
of many domestic and foreign actors, the Syrian crisis has become one of the
most significant issues worldwide in recent years. Based on the results of a
comprehensive survey conducted among the Syrians under temporary protection in
some certain cities of Turkey, this study aims at analysing their opinions about the
role and policies of some major foreign and domestic actors and especially about
Turkey’s policy about the Syrian crisis. Two important results of our survey are
as follows: In general, the Syrians seem to be against the intervention of foreign
powers to their internal affairs. On the other hand, they seem to be appreciate a
foreign state if that state has a positive approach to the forcibly migrated Syrians.
At least, this conclusion has become evident in the case of Turkey. In addition to
these, the expectations and suggestions of the Syrians related to the solution of the
crisis in their countries are presented in the concluding section.
