Merkel hücreli karsinom

ABSTRACT
Merkel-cell carcinoma (MCC) is a highly aggressive neuroendocrine carcinoma of the skin. Incidence rates of MCC have increased in past decades. MCC presents as a firm red to livid tumor with a smooth, shiny surface. Satellite metastases can occur quite early but ulcerations are very rare. Light microscopy and immunohistochemical examination are used in the diagnosis of the tumor. Large local excision and sentinel lymph node biopsy is recommended for the treatment. Adjuvant radiotherapy reduces regional recurrence rates.
