At the heart of innovative work behavior (IWB): The moderating role of innovation culture in the relationship between creative self-efficacy and innovative work behavior
Abstract
This study examines the effect of creative self-efficacy on innovative work behavior (IWB) and the role of the subdimensions of innovation culture (organizational values, leadership behaviors, innovative work climate, organizational resources, internal organizational processes, and organizational success) in this process. Research data were collected via an online survey from 249 participants working in a public institution and in the private sector within the information technology sector in Ankara. Hypotheses were tested using confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, PROCESS Macro Model 1, and structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that creative self-efficacy positively and significantly influences IWB. Additionally, it was determined that all subdimensions of innovation culture exhibit positive and significant relationships with IWB. However, moderation analyses revealed that the subdimensions of innovation culture do not play a significant moderating role in the relationship between creative self-efficacy and IWB. On the other hand, the results of the structural equation modeling revealed that innovative work climate and internal organizational processes, in particular, were more prominent. The findings indicate that creative self-efficacy and innovation culture provide direct and complementary contributions to explaining IWB.
