PCR-RFLP Characterization of Alternaria spp. from Pistachio in Türkiye and Evidence for a Putative Clonal Lineage
Abstract
Alternaria spp. cause significant yield losses in pistachio (Pistacia vera) and other crops. In this study, Alternaria isolates collected from local pistachio cultivars in Türkiye were characterized using PCR-RFLP based on ITS, Actin, and Tef1-α regions. PCR amplification generated fragments of approximately 600, 250, and 280 bp, respectively. Restriction analysis revealed no polymorphism among the isolates, suggesting that they may belong to a single clonal lineage.
