NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE INDUSTRIAL TYPE PHOTOVOLTAIC PANEL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE WITH SOLAR TRACKING AND CALCULATING OF SUNSHINE FACTOR
Abstract
In this study, investigations of 5 kWh of solar PV systems which are installed in the climatic
conditions of Ankara are made both the help of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) program
and the measurement data obtained from the installation system by comparison. According to
the comparison data, depending on the performance figures revealed by the panel surface
temperature is examined by the CFD program. Temperature by February, radiation values and
climatic values which are obtained from the CFD program is defined as the comparison of the
boundary conditions. The average monthly radiation values were determined according to the
defined boundary conditions. Photovoltaic panel efficiency of the system is examined according
to obtained these values. Total 32 pieces 170 W panels with a surface area 2x10m2 which are
located on 39°46'53.9"N 32°48'43.2”E are performed. Results of the analysis according to
average February climate data, panel surface temperatures and radiation from the surface of the
panel intensity is calculated by Fluent program. According to the obtained results, computational
fluid dynamics and result of applications are showed compliance and sunshine factor is found to
be 0.8
