Abstract

Gastroesophageal reflux disease is defined as a clinical condition characterized by symptoms and findings which is caused as a result of involuntary passage of the gastric contents into the esophagus. It is a multifactorial disorder. Patients can admit with symptoms of gastrointestinal or extra gastrointestinal system, like respiratory system. Diagnosis and treatment approaches are still controversial.
