Abstract
It is determined that dairy farming has importance in the suburbs of Tokat. In this study, dairy farming existing in the suburbs was investigated by making survey. In the investigated farm it was found that the 59% of the cows present belonged to an improved cow race. It is computed that while the value of feed used for dairy farming is 100 Turkish liras, the income gained from the use of this feed is 211 TL. In the location, it is determined that the production of milk in the improved cows is 3034 kg/year. The income of milk production for each farm is 43 311 000 TL. It is computed that the cost of 1 kg milk in the investigated farm is 8 805 TL and the market price of milk is 12 500 TL.

Abstract
Tokat İli kent merkezi ve civarında sütçülük faaliyetlerinin önemli boyutlara ulaştığı saptanmıştır. Bu konunun ekonomik açıdan ele alınıp incelenmesi yoluna gidilmiştir. Süt işletmelerinde mevcut ineklerin % 59' unun kültür ırklardan % 20'sinın ise melez ırklardan oluştuğu ve işletme başma 3.37 BBHB cinsinden sığır bulunduğu saptanmıştır. İşletmelerde yem dönüşüm oranı, 100 TL lik yeme karşılık 211 TL olarak belirlenmiştir. Laktasyonda süt verimi kültür ırklarda 3034 kg dır. işletme başma süt sığırcılığı faaliyet geliri 43 311 000 TL olarak belirlenmiştir. Bir kg sütün maliyeti ise, 8 805 TL olup sütün piyasa fiyatı 12 500 TL dir. İncelenen ailelerin % 84'ünün sütçülük dışında (tarım dışı) faaliyetlerinin bulunduğu da belirlenmiştir.
