In this study, the changes in building production by prefabricated concrete components in Turkey and Europe in the 1990.s were examined. This study reveals that there have not been any changes in the superstructure element types (wall-floor panels, columns, beams, trusses, etc.) produced in Turkey between 1994-2000 and these elements have been demanded especially by the private sector. It has been observed that the annual shares of superstructure components' production and building production with prefabricated concrete elements in the total building production increased between 1994-1997 but decreased between 1997-2000. The most significant decrease was recorded in the Marmara region market share between 1997-2000 in Turkey. According to the investigation among the twenty two countries in different regions in Europe, the average superstructure components' production per person continuously decreased between 1990-1998. However, a similar decrease in the building production with the prefabricated concrete components in the total building production has not been observed.
