Utilization of Nursing Research, Barriers and Change Models for Utilization of Research

Year 2011, Volume: 13 Issue: 3, 63 - 70, 01.12.2011

Abstract

It is an important requirement to implement nursing practice based onresearch evidence in order to accomplish development of the nursingprofession and increase the quality of care. The inadequate facilitiesfor implementation, not been compiled of the relevant literature in oneplace, physicians’ not cooperating with implementation, any availabledocument need to change practice, the nurses’ feeling that the resultsare not generalisable to own setting are the top great barriers toresearch utilization reported in Turkey. For theresearch utilization and to overcome the barriersit is a rational approach to use change models. For this purpose, CURN project, STETLERmodel, IOWA model, Diffusion model, Ottowamodel, PARIHS model are the most commonchange models used in the instutions. It isexpected that using these models will provide animportant change in the nurses’ behaviors andattitudes related to research utilization. In thisarticle, concept of research utilization in nursing, barriers, the change models and how to benefit ofthese models are reviewed

HEMŞİRELİK ARAŞTIRMALARININ KULLANIMI, ENGELLER VE ARAŞTIRMA KULLANIMINDA DEĞİŞİM MODELLERİ

Year 2011, Volume: 13 Issue: 3, 63 - 70, 01.12.2011
