Journal of Research and Development in Nursing is an academic, peer-reviewed journal published three times a year (April, August and December).
Journal of Research and Development in Nursing is an open access scientific international journal that publishes in accordance with the principles of double-blind refereeing.
Journal of Research and Development in Nursing adheres to national and international standards of research and publication ethics. It complies with the Press Law, the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works and the Directive on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics of Higher Education Institutions.
Journal of Research and Development in Nursing is a publication of the Association for Research and Development in Nursing.
Journal of Research and Development in Nursing has adopted the International Ethical Publishing Principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). It is also committed to comply with the decisions of the Turkish Editors' Workshop.

Articles submitted to the Journal of Research and Development in Nursing should be appropriate to the purpose and scope of the journal.
Journal of Research and Development in Nursing conducts a double blind review process. All manuscripts will first be evaluated by the editor for suitability to the journal. Manuscripts deemed appropriate are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the manuscript.
The evaluation of articles submitted to the Journal of Research and Development in Nursing is completed in an average of 3-6 months. Accepted articles are published within 9 months on average.
Declaration on Publication Ethics and Publication Abuse
It is important that all stakeholders (authors, reviewers and editors) involved in the publication process of the journal comply with the standards for ethical principles. The Journal of Research and Development in Nursing adheres to national and international standards on research and publication ethics.
Submitted articles must not have been previously published or submitted to more than one journal simultaneously.
Plagiarism, duplication, false authorship/ denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, sliced publication, copyright infringement and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors. All articles that do not comply with accepted ethical standards are removed from publication. This includes articles containing possible irregularities and non-conformities detected after publication.

The Journal of Research Development in Nursing adheres to COPE's Ethical Toolkit for Successful Editorial Practice. The editors of the Journal of Research Development in Nursing will take measures to prevent the publication of manuscripts in which plagiarism, citation manipulation, data falsification, data fabrication, and other research misconduct have occurred. In no case will the Journal of Research Development in Nursing or its editors knowingly allow such misconduct to occur. In the event that the editors of the Journal of Research Development in Nursing become aware of any allegations of research misconduct related to an article published in their journal, they will follow COPE's guidelines regarding allegations. Reviewers should inform the Editor if they suspect research or publication misconduct. The Editor is responsible for taking necessary action in accordance with COPE recommendations.

Research Ethics
The Journal of Research and Development in Nursing observes the highest standards in research ethics and adopts the international research ethics principles defined below. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that the articles comply with ethical rules.
• The principles of integrity, quality and transparency should be ensured in the design, review of the design and conduct of the research.
• The research team and participants should be fully informed about the purpose of the research, its methods and its anticipated potential uses, and the requirements and risks, if any, of participating in the research.
• Confidentiality of information provided by research participants and confidentiality of respondents must be ensured. The research should be designed to protect the autonomy and dignity of the participants.
• Research participants should take part in the research voluntarily and should not be under any coercion.
• Harm to participants should be avoided. The research should be planned in a way that does not put participants at risk.
• Research independence must be clear and explicit; any conflict of interest must be disclosed.
• In experimental studies with human subjects, the written informed consent of the participants who decide to participate in the research must be obtained. Consent must be obtained from the legal guardian of children and those under guardianship or with a confirmed mental illness.
• If the study will be conducted in any institution or organization, approval must be obtained from this institution or organization that the study will be conducted.
• In studies with a human element, it should be stated in the “method” section that “informed consent” was obtained from the participants and ethics committee approval was obtained from the institution where the study was conducted.
The Journal of Research and Development in Nursing adopts the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) “Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers” to provide ethical assurance in scientific periodical publishing. In this context, the following points should be followed in the studies submitted to the journal:
1) For research in all disciplines that require ethics committee approval (ethics committee approval must be obtained, this approval must be stated and documented in the article.
2) In studies requiring ethics committee approval, information about the permission (name of the committee, date and number) should be included in the method section and on one of the first/last pages of the article; in case reports, information on the signature of the informed consent form should be included in the article.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is presenting the ideas, methods, data, applications, writings, figures or works of others as one's own work in whole or in part without citing the owners in accordance with scientific rules.
The Journal of Research and Development in Nursing screens all submitted articles to prevent plagiarism. Studies submitted for review are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin & iThenticate, etc. software. The similarity rate is expected to be less than 20%. The main measure of similarity is the author's compliance with the citation and citation rules. If the similarity rate appears to be 1%, but the citation and citation are not done properly, plagiarism may still be in question. In this respect, citation and quotation rules should be known and carefully applied by the author.
Within the scope of publication ethics of the Journal of Research and Development in Nursing, all stakeholders are expected to carry the following ethical responsibilities.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
• The author must comply with research and publication guidelines.
• All named authors must contribute significantly to the research. There should be no unfair authorship.
• The author should not attempt to publish the same study in more than one journal.
• The author should cite the works used in the writing of the article in full in the bibliography.
• All data in the article must be authentic and original.
• All authors must ensure that retractions and errors are corrected.
• The bibliography list must be complete.
• For research conducted with support, the persons, institutions or organizations providing support and their contributions to the research should be indicated.
• Authors should submit their articles in accordance with the journal's writing rules.
2. Responsibilities of Arbitrators
• Reviewers should not have any conflicts of interest related to the research, the authors and/or the research funders.
• The reviewers' evaluations should be objective.
• The language and style used by the referees should not offend the author.
• Reviewers should ensure that all information regarding submitted manuscripts remains confidential until the manuscript is published.
• Reviewers should notify the editor if they notice copyright infringement or plagiarism in the work they review.
• A reviewer who feels inadequate to review a manuscript or feels that he/she cannot complete the review within the specified timeframe should withdraw from the review process.
• During the review process, reviewers are expected to consider the following points: Does the article contain new and important information? / Does the abstract clearly and properly describe the content of the article? / Is the methodology described in a coherent and understandable way? / Are the interpretations and conclusions supported by the findings? / Are adequate references given to other studies in the field? / Is the language quality adequate?
3. Responsibilities of Editors
• The editor evaluates manuscripts for scientific content without regard to the ethnicity, gender, citizenship, religious beliefs or political opinions of the authors.
• The Editor conducts fair double-blind peer review of manuscripts submitted for publication and ensures that all information about submitted manuscripts is kept confidential before publication.
• The editor informs the reviewers that the manuscripts are confidential and that this is a privileged interaction. Reviewers and the editorial board cannot discuss manuscripts with other people.
• The anonymity of reviewers must be ensured. In certain cases, the editor may share a reviewer's review with other reviewers to clarify a particular point.
• The editor is responsible for the content and overall quality of the publication. It is also his/her responsibility to issue a correction note or retraction when necessary.
• The editor does not allow any conflict of interest between authors, editors and reviewers. The Editorial Board only has full authority to appoint reviewers and is responsible for the final decision regarding the publication of manuscripts in the journal.
Protection of Participants' Personal Data
The Journal of Research Development in Nursing requires that all research involving personal or sensitive data or materials relating to human participants that are not legally available to the public be subject to formal ethical review.
Correction, Retraction, Expression of Concern
Editors may consider publishing a correction if minor errors are identified in the published article that do not affect the findings, interpretations and conclusions. Editors should consider retracting the manuscript if there are major errors/violations that invalidate the findings and conclusions. Editors should consider issuing a statement of concern if there is a possibility of research or publication misconduct by the authors; there is evidence that the findings are unreliable and that the authors' institutions have not investigated the incident; or the potential investigation appears unfair or inconclusive. COPE guidelines regarding correction, withdrawal or expression of concern are taken into account.
Ethical Violation Notifications
Readers can send an e-mail to hemarge@gmail.com if they notice a significant error or inaccuracy in an article published in the Journal of Research and Development in Nursing or if they have any complaints about the editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate articles, etc.).
